Hello & Welcome

I'm Jodi a Wedding and Portrait photographer on the stunning Sunshine Coast - Australia.  Thanks for visiting my journal - this is quite a new project for me - showcase all things new & exciting at Jodi McDonald Photography - recent work, give clients a quick sneek peek,  any specials or promotions, jot down some hopefully interesting bits 'n pieces and keep me on the path. Absolutely love my photography and anything photography related - hopefully it is evident in my work.  Love to capture happy fun people being themselves - if this sounds like you I'm sure we'll hit it off. Please visit my website to view more of my work and extra info.  It is clearly apparent that you can learn more about someone through regular visits to their blog than reading their Bio. Love to read comments and meet new bloggers like myself - don't be shy. Thanks again and come back to see what else I've been up to.

Atkins Family Shoot

Megan was recently given a little scare by one of her lovelies and booked in a session rather than saying "I need to get a family portrait one day". Her boys, Marcus & Wesley, are more than typical teenage boys and it was like pulling teeth though we still managed to get some grabs. The girls, Ilana & Piper, on the other hand worked the camera & each other wonderfully. Megan wants only B&W (to go with wedding & past family sessions I've done) though just had to add in a couple of COLOUR pics - love colour. Roxy the pup is never far away - too cute. Always have a laugh with Shayne & Megan and the girls are definitely (Piper particularly) going to have the same sense of humor. Thanks guys it was my pleasure.

Stewart Family Fun Day

Perfect Sunshine Coast weather for Saturday's beach session. Carmen the eldest of these three gorgeous sisters organized a shoot for Mum's birthday. We should all be so lucky - though mine are a little young to date to expect this yet. Dad had an automatic reflex to cross the arms (big no no - defensive apparently) though we created a family shot "underbelly" style (our own Aussie ganster story). Carmen's partner had to rush away to watch his horse race - and yes it came in 1st - dinner was paid for. Brooke and Troy tried to run from the camera (which they will have to get used to for their wedding) though I do think they've come up a treat. In between family members getting lost not once but twice, a horse race, watching dolphins 100m away, changing beaches it was a great arvo.

Absolutely Engaging

This has been going around but just in case YOU haven't seen it here it is! All the bridal action today had me thinking and this actually came up in a conversation. No doubt a few more brides will be dropping by this blog so this is very appropriate. Very emotive demo for a video company - won't go on about it just have a look WOW

Sunshine Coast Bridal Showcase Today

Spent the day (glorious coast weather today) at the Bridal Showcase at Twin Waters. Shared a booth with Darienne - one of my favorite celebrants. Caught up with quite a few other suppliers - have added pic of young new-Mum Kylie-Jane (gorgeous make-up artist) and straight across was Phil from Formal Wear Express (my new MAC mate!) The girls next to us pulled down their display before I could grab a shot - but young Melissa from Montville Flowers and Meg from MCD (cake design) were nice and busy all (most) of the day with an eye-catching display. Lots of future brides-to-be looking for inspiration and ideas. Also saw the girls from yesterdays photo shoot on the beach which I will endeavor to post tomorrow. Now I just need the bookings to flood in ..........

Sunshine Coast Bridal Showcase

All future Brides & Grooms (of course) should mark this in your calendar. Now my youngest Lucy is over 18 months I've started my push for wedding photography again. Have done minimal advertising and exposure though wanted to keep it low key as little Lucy is the last and they grow far too quickly. But with new look-business (includes website, this journal, a fresh-natural style and attitude) this expo is a great starting point. A little late notice and am sharing a booth with one of my favorite celebrants Dariene Davis. Please come and say hi and view some of my work and just have a chat.
Last time I did this expo it was quite wet which I thought would send them in though it was a little quiet - make the effort rain or sunshine there is lots to see and some great prizes!!!!!

The Girls

Meet Brooke, Ebony and Rayna!  I've known young Brooke and Ebony since nappy days - how cute they were - but have grown into gorgeous young ladies.  Wanted to capture them at this FUN stage in their lives - Rayna came because she is a little shy!!!!!! Had a great afternoon - sidestepping kangaroo poo, whistling boys, dodging cars and lots of laughs.  Rain kept away which was the main thing and produced some great colours. Thanks girls hope you enjoy them.

Irwin Family

You know the internet is working when you are booked from Canada! Young Matt searched and organized this shoot for his Mother's birthday via the web. His brother Darryl, with wife Lisa and kids, Matice and Hugh, live in Brisbane so it was a rare get together.  Little worried about the weather on Sunday though after today's glorious 250ml downpour and wind it was very pleasant in comparison. Original intention was for the Mooloolaba beach portraits - too extreme though we did capture a good range along the strip. Gail loved having her boys and partners all together almost as much as being around the grandkids! Dad Peter pretty much had a smile on his face the whole time also.  Beautiful family who enjoyed a laugh - which is essential for me - you can never laugh too much!
