Hello & Welcome

I'm Jodi a Wedding and Portrait photographer on the stunning Sunshine Coast - Australia.  Thanks for visiting my journal - this is quite a new project for me - showcase all things new & exciting at Jodi McDonald Photography - recent work, give clients a quick sneek peek,  any specials or promotions, jot down some hopefully interesting bits 'n pieces and keep me on the path. Absolutely love my photography and anything photography related - hopefully it is evident in my work.  Love to capture happy fun people being themselves - if this sounds like you I'm sure we'll hit it off. Please visit my website to view more of my work and extra info.  It is clearly apparent that you can learn more about someone through regular visits to their blog than reading their Bio. Love to read comments and meet new bloggers like myself - don't be shy. Thanks again and come back to see what else I've been up to.

Sarah & Ryan - Sunshine Coast Church Wedding

Little tardy on this end with the blog posting - no excuses but I will throw in Family arriving both interstate and from up north, School holidays and just plain busy.

Gorgeous Sarah & Ryan are now in Thailand on their honeymoon hopefully tracking down an internet cafe to have a peak. Sarah & Ryan live in Cairns, North Queensland, but returned to Sarah's home town the Sunny Coast for their special day. And what a fabulous day this was - went to school many moons ago with Sarah's sister Fiona (Matron of Honour) and her youngest Keely is the stunning bridesmaid. Must mention Mogana the eldest away at the snow on a School excursion. Adam was Ryan's best-man and his nephew William the pageboy - who you can see being a typical 3 year old with the ring cushion. The ever talented Trish Falzon did a great job with the make-up and also a touch up with hair-spray for Sarah. Hayley from Pure Hair & Beauty did all the girls hair. Young Sarah vowed not to be late - a running joke with friends - though car keys locked in the house did put an end to the good intentions - only 20 mins late. Ceremony held at the Maroochydore Uniting Church before the beach and then reception at the Headland Golf Club. Can't wait to get all the proofs to you guys - we had some funky locations (still processing not shown here) which look super!!!!! Congrats on a perfect day.

Gift from Bride - Sunshine Coast

I have the most amazing clients. You love it when your clients appreciate your work and how much you invest into their day. Usually this is expressed at the end of the day or afterwards when they receive their package. So you will understand my pleasant surprise when the bride herself dropped off these gorgeous thank you gifts just hours before exchanging her vows. How sweet is that. Sarah & Ryan's post will follow in a couple of days (brilliant day for a wedding here on the Sunshine Coast) but just had to pop this on - excuse my bikini clad daughter who just finished swim lessons and dutifully held these up. Chocolates were gone by the time I returned last night.................. Thanks Sarah & Ryan - so thoughtful - and your wedding was a beautiful as you guys.

Father's Day Sunshine Coast

Happy Father's Day to all those super dads out there. Always thinking of my Dad (sadly lost at sea) though obviously today more so on my thoughts. My special Ian has four little ones who showered him with big massive hugs, wishes and kisses today. Lucky boy has had two surfs, pancakes for brekky, some oh so special pressies (ha!), play in the park with the kids, little bit of tv and his fav Lasanga for dinner. Mug shots of the kids - hair as you can see is big in our house - my little contribution - if you know me you know what I mean. Enjoy all you wonderful dedicated dads.

Sunshine Coast Bridal Suppliers Shoot

So now I'm back here is the full post from our Bridal Shoot a week or so ago. Yes stunning Teearn produced three looks for us and as you can see from last years shoot (view previous post) we have pushed the creative side in all aspects - hair, make-up, gowns and lighting. We wanted to create something with impact - not traditional bridal - nice and sweet and safe!!!!  Again must mention the talented team behind the shoot - Trish Falzon make-up, Vicki Nelis hair & Evita from A Touch of Romance Bridal gowns.

August Exposure Seminar - Gold Coast

Arrived home last night from four amazing days on the Gold Coast attending the August Exposure seminar. A range of speakers from different fields and different levels BUT if anyone attending didn't learn something from EACH of the speakers I would be amazed.  It was a priceless investment for my business from an educational viewpoint and socially I met some awesome photographers from all over Australia - friends I should say.  So my point is no matter what level or stage you are at seminars, workshops or just networking is so valuable - it is hard to measure the impact it can have.  So I'm guessing you can get a sense of the impact and my increased enthusiasm - truly inspirational.  Wont list all the speakers again but Greg Dries from Moods Photography and Tracey from Photography by Visage were especially Inspirational to me. Huge shout out to Rob & Shirl Heyman for putting it all together and creating the CLICK!!!!!!!

No images from seminar to be shown anywhere so here is the gorgeous by night Gold Coast from my hotel room.
